What is “holiday pay” and the “Christmas bonus”?

In Austria, in most industries (for example on construction sites, in cleaning, catering, etc.) you get 13th and 14th salaries. This is also called “holiday pay” (Urlaubsgeld) and “Christmas bonus” (Weihnachtsgeld).

Whether you are entitled to this and how much you get is stated in your collective agreement (Kollektivvertrag) or minimum wage tariff (Mindestlohntarif).
